Teaching with Differentation in Mind

“Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.” Chinese Proverb There are many, many paths to learning. A good teacher thohroughly understands his/her students. That teacher encourages students to learn through their individual strengths. This type of teaching is what is called differentiation. Before a differentiated lesson can be undertaken, a student's learning inventory must be undertaken. With the knowledge of how individual students learn, a teacher can actually teach to that strength. On the discussion page please post a lesson plan that is an example of using differentiation with the following points:
  1. Objective/Goal of your Lesson
  2. Materials
  3. Procedure
  4. Student Assessment/Evaluation
  5. Personal reflection on:
    1. What you learned from teaching this lesson?
    2. How it went? Was it successful? Did it help to enhance each student's understanding of the skill/task?
    3. What would you change?
